Turn any computer into an oscilloscope

The OWON VDS6000 Series is a PC-based (virtual) oscilloscope: a compact, ultra-thin USB box that connects to your laptop and puts a full 100 MHz, 2- or 4-channel scope on your screen — with 1 GSa/s real-time sampling and 10 Mpts of record length behind a large, comfortable software display.

There is no small built-in screen to squint at: you get your whole monitor for the waveform, easy screenshots and data export, and a big 14-bit resolution jump on the “A” models. Software runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, and SCPI, LabVIEW and secondary-development support make it just as happy inside an automated test setup.

Who it’s for & best applications

Because it uses the computer you already own for its display and processing, the VDS6000 is an affordable, space-saving way to add real oscilloscope capability — ideal for education, makers, field service and anyone who wants a big screen and easy data capture without a bulky benchtop instrument.

Ideal for
  • Education, training labs & student benches
  • Makers, hobbyists & home electronics
  • Field service & on-site troubleshooting with a laptop
  • Space- or budget-limited benches
  • Automated test & data logging (SCPI / LabVIEW)
Typical applications
  • General electronics, audio & power-supply debugging
  • Microcontroller & embedded development
  • Long captures & screenshots straight to your PC
  • High-resolution 14-bit capture on the “A” models
  • Custom software via SCPI & secondary development
