OWON HSA3000-R Series
A real-time spectrum analyser you can carry up the mast: 9 kHz to 20 GHz, 100 MHz real-time bandwidth, a 6.25 µs 100% probability of intercept, GPS track logging and an optional vector network analyser — in a 4.7 kg instrument with an 8-inch multi-touch screen.

The signal that only appears when you are not looking
A swept analyser examines one slice of the band at a time. Anything that starts and stops while it is looking somewhere else is simply never seen — which is exactly the behaviour of the interference that is hardest to chase: frequency hopping, bursty, intermittent, there for a few microseconds every few seconds. The HSA3000-R does not sweep. It digitises a 100 MHz span continuously and transforms it in real time, so any event lasting 6.25 µs or longer is captured with 100% probability of intercept.
And it does that in the field. A GPS receiver, a directional antenna input and a gyroscope let it record where each reading was taken and which way the antenna was pointing, and draw the trail on a map on the instrument — so a walk around a site becomes a triangulation rather than a set of disconnected readings. On the two lower models an optional vector network analyser and cable-and-antenna test mode measure S11/S21, VSWR, return loss and distance-to-fault, which means the same box that finds the interference also tests the feeder you suspect.

Who it’s for & best applications
Real-time capture earns its keep wherever the signal will not sit still and wait for you — and a handheld earns its keep wherever the signal is not on your bench.
- Spectrum monitoring and regulatory field work
- Interference hunting, with the GPS map and a directional antenna
- Mobile-network and broadcast site survey and commissioning
- Tower crews testing feeders and antennas (HSA3036-R / HSA3075-R)
- EMC pre-compliance away from the chamber
- Radar, satellite and microwave link work — HSA3140-R and HSA3200-R
- Catching frequency-hopping and burst emissions a sweep walks past
- Locating an interferer by logging level and bearing against position
- Distance-to-fault on a feeder run, before anyone climbs
- Channel power, ACPR, occupied bandwidth and spectrum emission mask
- AM, FM and PM demodulation of a signal you have just found
- Pre-compliance scans against CISPR, FCC Part 15B and EN 61000 limits
Choose your model
Four models on one platform. The real-time engine is identical on all of them — 100 MHz bandwidth, 6.25 µs POI, −165 dBm/Hz DANL, 1 Hz RBW, the GPS map and the 8-inch multi-touch screen. Two things change with the frequency range: above 7.5 GHz there is no tracking generator, no vector network analyser and no cable-and-antenna mode, and the RF input changes from N-type to 2.92 mm.

On the HSA3036-R and HSA3075-R the tracking generator, the vector network analyser and the cable-and-antenna mode are a factory option ordered with the instrument — the second price above. The preamplifier is standard on every model. Prices include VAT.
