Product category introduction

Professional OWON spectrum analysers category introduction

OwonTechnology.eu supplies genuine OWON spectrum analysers for European customers, with EU shipping, manufacturer warranty and local support. Main ranges include XSA3000-R Real-time Series, XSA1000P Series, XSA800 Series, HSA1000 Series, HSA2000 All-in-One Series, HSA3000-R Real-time Series, VSA-P PC-Module Series. Choose by the required technical range, application, connectivity and measurement accuracy.

  • Real-time capture: choose the benchtop XSA3000-R series when you need real-time analysis (100 MHz RTBW, 6.25 µs 100% POI), DANL to −165 dBm/Hz and −106 dBc/Hz phase noise, a standard preamplifier and a 10.4″ multi-touch display — with an optional vector network analyzer (S11/S21) and tracking generator.
  • Benchtop with tracking generator: choose the XSA1000P (to 7.5 GHz, DANL −163 dBm) or value XSA800 (to 1.5 GHz) series for laboratory and production RF measurement — both include tracking-generator hardware for filter, amplifier and antenna characterisation.
  • Handheld field work: choose the HSA1000 series (to 7.5 GHz, with tracking generator and GPS) for portable on-site RF diagnostics, or the real-time HSA3000-R (to 20 GHz, optional VNA, GPS/directional antenna) for demanding field and EMC work.
  • All-in-one portable: choose the HSA2000 series when one handheld must be a spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope and multimeter — ideal for service technicians who carry a single instrument.
  • PC-based / production: choose the VSA-P module series (to 8 GHz) when the analyzer is driven from a PC for automated, rack or ATE production measurement at lower cost per channel.

Spectrum Analysers from OWON

The OWON spectrum-analyzer range spans compact handheld units for field RF work, benchtop analyzers with tracking generators for laboratory and production testing, PC-connected measurement modules, and real-time analyzers reaching up to 20 GHz.

Real-time XSA3000-R and HSA3000-R models add a 100 MHz real-time bandwidth and an optional vector network analyzer (S11/S21), so one instrument can cover spectrum, network and cable-fault measurements.

FAQ

Questions about OWON Spectrum Analysers

Technical selection guidance for choosing the right instrument family and model.

What is the difference between a real-time and a swept spectrum analyzer?

A traditional swept analyzer scans the frequency span with a single sweeping filter, so brief or intermittent signals can be missed between sweeps. A real-time analyzer digitises a wide instantaneous bandwidth continuously — the OWON XSA3000-R and HSA3000-R offer 100 MHz real-time bandwidth with a 100% probability-of-intercept down to 6.25 µs — so it captures transient, hopping and burst signals that a swept analyzer would not see. Choose real-time for EMC pre-compliance, interference hunting and signal monitoring; a swept benchtop model (XSA1000P / XSA800) is sufficient for stable-signal RF measurement.

Which OWON spectrum analyzers include a tracking generator?

The XSA800-TG, XSA1000P-TG and HSA1000-TG models include tracking-generator hardware, letting you characterise the frequency response of filters, amplifiers, antennas and cables (scalar network measurement). The XSA800 ships with the tracking-generator hardware as standard; on the XSA1000P and HSA1000 it is a tracking-generator kit. If you need full vector S-parameters (S11/S21), the real-time XSA3000-R and HSA3000-R both offer a vector network analyzer as an option.

What is the highest frequency OWON spectrum analyzer?

The handheld real-time HSA3000-R series reaches 20 GHz (HSA3200-R), with 14 GHz (HSA3140-R), 7.5 GHz (HSA3075-R) and 3.6 GHz (HSA3036-R) options. On the bench, the XSA3080-R reaches 8 GHz and the XSA1075P reaches 7.5 GHz. Handheld HSA1075-TG and VSA880P modules cover up to 7.5 GHz and 8 GHz respectively.

Which OWON models include a vector network analyzer (VNA)?

The real-time XSA3000-R (benchtop) and HSA3000-R (handheld) series offer a vector network analyzer as an option, covering 100 kHz to 7.5 GHz with up to 90 dB dynamic range. It measures Vector S11/S21 — return and insertion loss, phase, group delay and VSWR — with Smith-chart and polar display, plus optional cable-and-antenna fault location (DTF/TDR). Both come with a preamplifier as standard. The tracking-generator models (XSA800, XSA1000P, HSA1000) provide scalar network measurement but not full vector S-parameters.

Should I choose a handheld (HSA) or a benchtop (XSA) analyzer?

Choose a benchtop XSA series when the analyzer stays on the lab or production bench and you want the largest display, best phase-noise and DANL performance, and mains operation. Choose a handheld HSA series for field, installation and on-site EMC work where portability and battery operation matter — the HSA3000-R adds GPS and directional-antenna support for interference hunting. The HSA2000 all-in-one is the choice when one portable instrument must also serve as an oscilloscope and multimeter.
