Programmable DC Electronic Load Series

OWON OEL15 / 30 / 60 Series

Compact bench DC loads that do the real work: 150, 300 or 600 V inputs at 150 or 300 W, with CC/CV/CR/CP modes, a 5 kHz dynamic mode, remote sensing and SCPI control. From €150.

Nine models, one small footprint

The OWON OEL15/30/60 series is a family of nine single-channel programmable DC electronic loads built for the bench rather than the rack. Every model shares the same slim 84 mm-wide chassis and 2.8-inch TFT display — you pick the input rating: 150 V (OEL15xx), 300 V (OEL30xx) or 600 V (OEL60xx) at 15, 20 or 30 A and 150 or 300 W.

All nine sink current in four static modes — CC, CV, CR and CP — and add a CC dynamic mode up to 5 kHz with a programmable rise/fall slope for transient testing. 1 mV / 0.1 mA readback, four-wire remote sensing, full protection (OVP, OCP, OPP, OTP and reverse polarity) and SCPI over USB Type-C, RS232 or RS485 make them equally at home in a teaching lab, a repair bench or an automated test setup.

Why the OEL15/30/60

Four static modes, fast dynamic testing, remote sensing and SCPI — in a load that takes up almost no bench space.

OWON OEL15/30/60 static modes: CC, CV, CR and CP characteristic curves

CC / CV / CR / CP

Four static operating modes with a 0.05 Ω–7.5 kΩ resistance range and 10 mW power-setting resolution — load a supply, a battery or a converter exactly the way its spec is written.

5 kHz dynamic mode

Switch between two programmed current levels with T1/T2 timing from 0.1 ms to 50 s and a rise/fall slope from 0.01 to 2000 A/ms (minimum rise time 20 µs) for load-transient testing.

OWON OEL15/30/60 remote sensing connection to a device under test

Four-wire remote sensing

Vsense+ and Vsense− terminals compensate for the voltage drop in your test leads, so the load regulates on the voltage at the device under test — not at its own terminals.

SCPI over USB, RS232 & RS485

A front-panel USB Type-C port plus rear RS232/RS485 with the SCPI protocol and free Windows software — drop the load straight into an automated test sequence.

Who it’s for & best applications

A DC electronic load is the missing half of every power bench: it draws a precisely controlled current so you can characterise whatever supplies it.

Ideal for
  • Education and training labs — small, protected and affordable
  • Power-supply, adapter and charger repair & verification
  • Battery and energy-storage discharge testing
  • DC–DC converter and solar-panel characterisation
  • Small production benches and QA sampling over SCPI
Typical applications
  • Load-transient response with the 5 kHz dynamic mode
  • Constant-power burn-in and endurance runs
  • Cable-drop-free measurement using remote sensing
  • High-voltage strings: the 600 V models suit PV and telecom rails
  • Battery-discharge curves and OCP/OPP routines with the “T” version
The range

Choose your model

Nine models, one platform. The first two digits are the voltage class15 = 150 V, 30 = 300 V, 60 = 600 V — and the last two are the current: 15, 20 or 30 A. The 15 A models are 150 W; the 20 and 30 A models are 300 W. Click any model to view its full details and buy.

Versions & options

The extra test functions are factory versions, not field upgrades — choose them with the order. Contact us and we’ll quote the version you need.

“T” version

Factory option

Adds the battery-discharge test (capacity curves with cut-off conditions) plus automated OCP and OPP test routines. Works with the free OWON Battery Test System PC software.

“V” version

Factory option

Adds the ripple-test function, for measuring the residual AC ripple on the DC rail your load is drawing from.

RS232 cable & remote-sense leads

Optional

The RS232 com cable connects a PC for SCPI remote control; the remote-compensation lead set brings the Vsense terminals out to the device under test.

Specifications

Shared across the OEL15/30/60 series; voltage, current and power ratings depend on the model — see the comparison above.
