Professional OWON benchtop oscilloscope category introduction
A benchtop oscilloscope is the heart of every electronics workbench: a mains-powered instrument with its own display, front-panel controls and BNC inputs, ready the moment you switch it on. OWON’s benchtop range spans eight series — from ultra-affordable education scopes to 12-bit high-resolution and 500 MHz multifunction instruments — so there is a right-sized model for every bench and budget.
- Education & starter benches: the SDS1000 series (20–200 MHz, from €190), the compact SDS200(S) touch-key scopes (100 MHz, 1 GS/s, 20M record, from €179) and the single-channel AS201 (€169) cover teaching labs and first benches.
- High resolution: for cleaner traces than a standard 8-bit scope, choose 12-bit — the compact ADS900A (125/250 MHz, from €375), the economical XDS2102A (€410) — or the 14-bit XDS3000-AE models.
- High bandwidth: the 4th-generation ADS3000 multifunction series runs to 350 and 500 MHz with up to 2.5 GSa/s sampling; the ADS3000A adds 12-bit resolution across the same 100–500 MHz range.
- All-in-one instruments: SDS200 “S” versions add a built-in 25 MHz signal generator; XDS3000-AE models include an integrated multimeter, 25 MHz waveform generator and CAN / I2C / SPI / RS232 decoding.
- 4-channel work: four-channel models are available in almost every family — SDS1104 (€280), ADS3x04(A), ADS914A/924A and the XDS3000-E series.

Benchtop oscilloscopes from OWON
Every OWON benchtop oscilloscope here is a genuine unit with EU shipping and manufacturer warranty. Below is the range by series, from entry level to flagship — each series page lists all models with full specifications and pricing. Not sure where to start? Pick by bandwidth and resolution: 8-bit is fine for general work, 12- and 14-bit models resolve small signal detail far better, and the “multifunction” series can add a signal generator, multimeter and serial decoding to replace several bench instruments at once.

Questions about OWON benchtop oscilloscopes
Technical selection guidance for choosing the right bench scope.
Which OWON benchtop oscilloscope should I choose?
Start from your signals: for education and general electronics up to audio/embedded work, the SDS1000 or SDS200(S) series (20–200 MHz, from €179) are ideal. If you measure small signal details — ripple, sensors, audio distortion — choose a 12-bit model such as the ADS900A or XDS2102A. For four-channel timing work pick the SDS1104 or an XDS3000-E; for high bandwidth up to 350–500 MHz, the ADS3000 or 12-bit ADS3000A series is the flagship choice.
What is the advantage of a 12-bit or 14-bit oscilloscope over 8-bit?
The ADC resolution sets how finely the vertical axis is divided: 8-bit gives 256 levels, 12-bit gives 4096 and 14-bit gives 16384. A 12- or 14-bit scope therefore shows small details on large signals — power-supply ripple, sensor noise, audio distortion — that disappear in the quantisation of a standard 8-bit scope. OWON offers 12-bit resolution from €375 (ADS912A), one of the most affordable ways to get high-resolution measurement.
Which OWON benchtop scopes have a built-in signal generator or multimeter?
The SDS200 “S” versions (SDS210S, SDS215S, SDS220S) include a built-in 25 MHz generator with sine, square, ramp and pulse outputs plus 16 arbitrary waveforms. The XDS3000-AE models go further with an integrated multimeter and a 25 MHz waveform generator, and the multifunction ADS3000/ADS3000A platform supports similar expansion — one instrument replacing several on a crowded bench.
What do the A, S, E and AE suffixes mean on OWON oscilloscopes?
They mark platform variants. “A” is the high-resolution version: ADS3000A and ADS900A models have 12-bit ADCs (the XDS2102A is also 12-bit). “S” on the SDS200 series adds the built-in 25 MHz signal generator. “E” marks the economical XDS3000-E platform (8-bit), and “AE” is its enhanced version with a 14-bit ADC, integrated multimeter and waveform generator included.
Do OWON benchtop oscilloscopes support serial-bus decoding?
Yes — CAN, I2C, SPI and RS232 decoding is included as standard on the XDS2102A and on the XDS3000-E series, which helps enormously when debugging embedded and automotive electronics. Check the individual product pages of the other series for their current decoding and interface options.
