A spectrum analyser that goes to the problem

The HSA1000 puts a real spectrum analyser in a case you can carry up a mast: 9 kHz to 1.6, 3.6 or 7.5 GHz, an 8-inch 1024×768 multi-touch display, lithium-ion battery power and a total weight of about 2.5 kg in a rubber-armoured 265 × 190 × 58 mm body.

The measurement side is not a compromise: 1 Hz resolution bandwidth, −160 dBm/Hz DANL, −106 dBc/Hz phase noise at 1 GHz and <0.7 dB amplitude accuracy. GPS is standard, so every measurement can be geo-tagged — which is exactly what you want when you are walking a site looking for the source of an interferer.

Why the HSA1000

Field-ready hardware without giving up the measurement performance of a benchtop instrument.

OWON HSA1000 handheld spectrum analyser in use

Built for the field

Lithium-ion battery power, a rubber-armoured case and an 8-inch multi-touch screen you can read outdoors — 2.5 kg including the battery.

Internal lithium-ion power and a rugged case, so the instrument works away from a bench and a mains socket.

The measurement often has to happen where the problem is — up a mast, in a plant room, in a vehicle. An instrument that has to be carried to the fault and run for a few hours changes what can be diagnosed on the day.

In practice: Tracing interference across a site on foot, taking readings at each location without hunting for power.

GPS geo-tagging, standard

A GPS antenna is supplied as standard and every measurement can carry its location — the difference between "there is an interferer" and "the interferer is here".

Who it’s for & best applications

Ideal for
  • Interference hunting and spectrum monitoring in the field
  • Site surveys and antenna installation work
  • Broadcast and cellular maintenance teams
  • EMC pre-compliance away from the lab
  • Anywhere mains power and a bench are not available
Typical applications
  • Locating and geo-tagging interference sources
  • Antenna and feeder checks with the tracking generator
  • Field strength and channel power measurement
  • Audio demodulation to identify an unknown carrier
  • Pass/fail limit testing on site
The range

Choose your model

The models differ in one thing: the top of the frequency range, and whether you take the tracking generator option. Resolution bandwidth, sensitivity, display and measurement set are identical across the series. Click any model for its full specifications and to buy.

Prices shown are for the analyser on its own. The tracking-generator version is selected on the product page — it adds a signal source that sweeps in step with the analyser, turning the instrument into a scalar network analyser for filters, cables and antennas.
