What is the difference between the OEL85 and OEL15/30/60 series?
The OEL85 series (200–500 W) targets demanding validation and production test: it offers a faster 0.01 A/ms transient slope, battery internal-resistance measurement and solar-cell (PV) characterisation modes. The OEL15/30/60 series (150–300 W) is a cost-effective bench load suited to power-supply testing, charger validation and education — nine models across 150 V, 300 V and 600 V voltage ranges.
Which OEL model should I choose for 600 V input testing?
Choose the OEL6015, OEL6020 or OEL6030 (OEL15/30/60 series) for 600 V bench loads up to 300 W. For higher power at 600 V with dynamic testing, the OEL8511C or OEL8512C (OEL85 series) handle 200–400 W at up to 600 V with the faster transient slope.
Can OWON electronic loads measure battery internal resistance?
Yes — the OEL85 series includes a battery internal-resistance (IR) measurement mode. This makes it suitable for battery capacity testing, state-of-health assessment and discharge characterisation without a separate instrument.
Do OWON electronic loads support PC remote control?
All OEL models support remote control and data logging via USB (virtual COM). This allows full control from a PC using SCPI commands — useful for automated test sequences, logging discharge curves and integrating the load into a test system.
